Dr. Danny Warbington

A Leader Is Born
Danny was born on June 2, 1965 in Marshall, Texas. He grew up in a home with his father Earl, mother Glenda, and four siblings, Donna, Debbie, David and Diane. Danny was the typical East Texas kid. His energy reserve was always full, propelling him into an active lifestyle of hunting, fishing, football, baseball, and simply just hanging out with his brother. Having fun was a priotity of his childhood. Throughout his years at home, it was evident love was never hard to find.
Earl and Glenda loved their children and always made an effort to ensure that they knew it. Danny was raised in a home where the rod was never spared. Earl and Glenda believed that one of the greatest displays of love was to exercise discipline when it was necessary. That is something that Danny came to appreciate as he matured into an adult. Even with discipline at his parent's disposal, Earl and Glenda would probably tell you today that Danny was a pretty good boy growing up. He was an average student, making B's in school and attending church at every opportunity. Church activities were important to him.
He was active in his youth group and always enjoyed good preaching. About the only thing he would have changed would have been to speed the music up a little, but remember, that's coming from a kid with a pretty good case of Attention Deficit Disorder.
Danny graduated from high school in 1983. After graduation Danny realized that he had a great desire in his life. Danny had the desire for a soul mate. Danny's approach for finding a wife was simple, prayer. He didn't ask God for much, a potential wife needed to be a Christian, be pretty good in the kitchen, and have a dark complection. His prayers paid off. While at a church softball practice he found his answer. A pretty little gal caught his eye. The rest is history. Danny himself said it best, “ I fell in love with Julie on the first date. She was so beautiful and I knew this was the girl I wanted to spend the rest of my life with”. Danny and Julie were married on November 30th, 1985.
From there he began to climb the ladder at Brookshires Grocery Company, where he had been employed as a teen. Danny's outgoing personality and dedicated work ethic quickly handed him a variety of different management opportunities and eventually landed him an Assistant Store Manager position. Danny served Brookshires for 12 years, but during his time there, he felt that something was missing. There was a deep void in his life.
He realized that God was placing a call on his life to preach. One evening at a revival in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Danny surrendered to the call to preach God's Word. Not long after surrendering to the call to preach he enrolled at East Texas Baptist University where he studied Christian Ministry, Business, and Ministry Counseling. During this time he had to make a hard decision, and that was to give up his financial security and benefits at Brookshires in order to fulfill God's will for his life. And that will was to pastor God's people.
One of Danny's biggest challenges was time management. Between work, a wife, pastoring his first church, and raising three children, balancing his time was nothing less than a strategic task. Family was and is today one of Dr. Danny's main priorities. His children, Danielle (born 1987), Matthew (born 1990), and Joshua (born 1994), never took a back burner to ministry. Danny believes that a father is first called to be the pastor of his home. Most former pastors will tell you that their biggest regret is not spending enough time with thier family. And because of Danny's commitment to family and ministry, his children are dedicated Christians today.
Dr. Danny continued his education at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and received his doctorate in 2007. He will tell you that he could not have done it without strong people in his life such as Dr. Donald Pott's, Dr. Bruce Tankersley, Dr. Ron Harvey and Doyle Hayes. As current pastor of Mulberry Springs Baptist Church, Danny knows that this is only the beginning. He knows God provides an amazing newness each and every day that makes waking up and serving Him more glorious.

Quote:

"My Family life along with my years as a Assistant Store Manager at Brookshires, taught me to love and manage people. I am a people person and my background has helped in establishing my ministry as a ministry of help and love."
